Dan Doherty, PT, MS, TPI obtained his Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in 1998 with a 13 month internship at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. He has worked in a variety of settings including orthopedics, chronic pain management, onsite industrial rehabilitation, and has been published in several studies regarding functional recovery after strokes.
Dan joined Coastal Ortho in 2007 and is currently the Clinical Manager of our orthopedic department. His interests include management of the unstable shoulder, joint replacements, as well as manual therapy interventions to assist with peripheral joint pain. He is the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education managing and assigning students within our physical therapy department.
Dan’s treatment approaches include components stemming from continuing education topics such as Kinesiotaping, Mulligan mobilizations, the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and the Postural Restoration Institute. He is also TPI certified through the Titleist Performance Institute and utilizes this knowledge to assist patients in returning to and improving their golf game.
