Anterolateral Hip Replacement
This procedure, because it is muscle-sparing, is less invasive than other approaches, allowing the patient to have less pain and faster rehabilitation after surgery. In addition, this approach usually results in a more stable hip; therefore, the dislocation precautions that are used with other approaches are not as strict. Also, because of the muscle-sparing approach, the patient may leave the hospital sooner than with previous approaches.
